Assessment
Our therapists may complete formal assessments when seeking further information about a child's holistic development and functional capabilities. An assessment may occur as a result of concerns related to sensory processing, fine or gross motor skills, visual perception, self-care tasks, attention, or social interactions. Assessments can provide a solid foundation for establishing a plan for ongoing intervention, forming recommendations, and identifying progress and support needs.

Therapy
As a mobile service, therapy sessions will take place in your child’s natural environments. We place emphasis on relationship building and specifically tailor sessions to meet the needs and interests of your child. Ongoing review of goals and intervention approaches will occur in collaboration with your child’s support network. Some examples of skills that may be targeted during therapy include: sensory processing, emotional regulation and behaviour, fine motor, gross motor, self-care, toileting, sleep, feeding and mealtimes, executive functioning, play and social skills.

Report Writing
Progress reports are part of standard practice for our therapists and are important in tracking and communicating the therapy journey for our clients and families. These reports aim to document progress toward established goals and skills achieved, current functioning level, areas for continued support and interventions utilised. Reports are provided for all NDIS participants in preparation for plan review processes.
We may also provide written documentation to report on assessment results and make specific recommendations or justifications based on individualised goals or support needs.

Consultation & Professional Development
At Flourish, we recognise the importance of supporting parents and educators to build their understanding of and confidence to apply approaches used in therapy in their everyday lives. Collaboration with families forms an integral part of our approach to therapy with each child and is prioritised by our therapists. We also offer site-based professional learning opportunities for educators across a wide range of skill areas to support children’s development and engagement in educational settings.
